Usually, if you accidentally move your ball that is in play, there is a penalty of one stroke below Rule 182 and the ball has to be replaced. Note that the Club has adopted the recommended Local Rule that removes the penalty for accidentally moving a ball on the putting green. You can of course play it where it lies, unless a Local Rule says otherwise, but if you decide to take the relief allowed by the rules, you must receive FULL relief from the condition Ag you can’t drop your ball and play it while your feet are still in the condition. If you receive relief by removing a stake or other item declared to be an immovable obstruction in the Local Rule, you are in breach of Rule 132 of the Rules of Golf Improving Lie, Area of Intended Stance or Swing, or Line of Play and incur a penalty of two strokes (in stroke play) or loss of hole in match play. Remember that if a stake marking the water hazard affects your stroke, YOU CANNOT MOVE IT because of our local rules stakes are stationary obstructions. The Club considers that the normal preparation of the surrounds of the greens provides an option for players to putt a ball from off the green, and in this situation, an stationary obstruction accessible to the green can bar that option. For the whole wording of the Local Rule in effect on this course, including application of the rule and penalty for breach of the rule, refer to the Rules of Golf Appendix I Piece A Local Rules 4a. Otherwise, the player incurs no penalty and the ball must be played as it lies unless some other Rule applies (e.g. For consistency, this Local Rule also modifies Rule 183 to eliminate the same penalty in match play when an enemy accidentally causes the player’s ball on the putting green to move. If the player did not cause the ball to move, the ball is played as it lies unless some other Rule applies (e.g. The Club’s Web Based Events Calendar has been occupied with information about most golf events programmed for the stylish year, as well as a number of social events, club functions and other events which we thought might be of interest to members and visitors to this site. Packed table service is available for all guests upon request. What penalties (if any) apply to you if you inquire or say the latter during a stroke play game: When taking relief from a water hazard lower penalty a player may drop any ball, so neither you nor your fellow competitor were playing incorrect balls to the putting green, Decision 1514 no surplus penalty and your strokes finishing the hole count. When the ball goes on to then hit his Bill’s ball, there is a two stroke penalty lower Rule 195a, and the ball must be played as it lies Be the ball is holed out. Maximum of the regular competitions that members play at the Club are Stroke Play competitions where each player (or team) is competing against all the other players or teams in the competition competitions such as Single Stroke, Single Stableford, 4 Ball Superior Ball (4BB) and so on. However the Club also has considerable Match Play events over the year for its members both closed events and representative events. This annual event is a Handicap Match play competition played between teams of fourteen (14) players from each Club. Match play used to be common for events like the Club Championships, where you played some stroke rounds to see if you could qualify for the genuine Championships Match Play event. Once one player is more holes up than there are holes left to play, the match is won, and there is no need to remain playing to the end. In Handicap Match Play, strokes are given on some holes to one player based on the Match Index for the hole.
